The Ivorian attacker was nominated alongside Alejandro Garnacho and new signing Noussair Mazraoui for United’s player of the month award and Amad stormed away with the prize, claiming 53% of the votes cast.
The award rubberstamps a long-awaited breakthrough for Amad, who has spent time away on loan at Rangers and Sunderland since signing for United from Atalanta in January 2021.
Next up for United are Liverpool at Old Trafford, a fixture that holds fond memories for Amad following his unforgettable extra-time winner in last season’s FA Cup quarterfinal.
Sancho also has an Old Trafford goal against United’s bitter rivals to his name. He opened the scoring in 2-1 victory in August 2022. A lot of water has certainly passed under the bridge since then.
