College football is almost back — with many changes on the way compared to last season — and with it comes the return of ESPN’s “College GameDay.”

The Saturday show, which highlights some of college football’s biggest matchups, is back for Week 0 as action begins across the country. And this special edition will highlight a big game across the pond.

The show will include host Rece Davis, analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and new addition Nick Saban, along with insider Pete Thamel and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims.

Here’s what you need to know about ESPN’s “College GameDay” for Week 0, including its location, upcoming schedule and guest picker.

Where will 'College GameDay' be for Week 0?

  • Location: Dublin, Ireland
  • Time: 9 a.m. ET
  • Matchup: No. 10 Florida State vs. Georgia Tech

For the first time in the show’s 31-season history of traveling for games, “College GameDay” will be hosted overseas, in Dublin, Ireland.

As Florida State and Georgia Tech travel to Ireland to begin their respective 2024 seasons, they’ll match up in Aviva Stadium for the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. An NCAA football game has been held in Ireland each of the last two seasons, and this marks the ninth game in Ireland overall.

In 2023, Florida State finished 13-1 overall after beating Louisville in the ACC Championship but falling to Georgia, 63-3, in the Orange Bowl.

The Seminoles, ranked 10th in the preseason AP Poll, will be looking to open the fresh season with a win in a different country.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech went 7-3 last season, including two wins over ranked opponents, and had its first bowl game in five years.

The last time Florida State appeared on “College GameDay” came in 2020, while Georgia Tech’s last appearance on the show was in 2019.

This Week 0 matchup, the first confirmed game of the 2024 college football season, will set the tone for all the action throughout the coming months, and “College GameDay” will be on site for it across the Atlantic Ocean.

Upcoming 'College GameDay' schedule on ESPN

Similar to past seasons, “College GameDay” will be announcing its location schedule by week. However, ESPN has announced the show’s location for Week 1: College Station, Texas, for Notre Dame at Texas A&M.

For Texas A&M, it will be its first home game with “College GameDay” on site since September 2018.

Beyond Week 0 in Ireland and Week 1 in Texas, ESPN’s college football pregame show doesn’t have a set location schedule, for now.

Who is the guest picker on 'College GameDay' for Week 0?

WWE wrestler Stephen Farrelly, better known as Sheamus, will be a guest picker for the “College GameDay” Week 0 matchup.

Sheamus, who is from Ireland, will join the rest of the ESPN crew before the 2024 college football season officially begins with Florida State vs. Georgia Tech.
