The 2024 NHL offseason begins in earnest Friday night with the NHL Draft.
The two-day event, highlighted by Round 1 on Friday, will be held from The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Eighteen-year-old sensation Macklin Celebrini is the slam-dunk consensus to be taken first overall by the San Jose Sharks. The Boston University product won the Hobey Baker Award this past season as a freshman, becoming the youngest player and just the fourth freshman to win the award.

But after Celebrini, the field is wide-open, creating plenty of intrigue. The Blackhawks and Ducks round out the top three, and their selections may very well dictate how the rest of the draft unfolds.
Other top prospects include Michigan State's Artyom Levshunov, Russia's Ivan Demidov,and Denver's Zeev Buium.
