DPS, Roc Nation, Jessie Collins, and Hamish Hamilton were all part of making it come together.

Why is Usher performing at the Super Bowl halftime show?

Usher was announced as the Super Bowl halftime performer in late September. Despite widespread speculation on potential guests, there hasn't been any information released on other artists who will be joining him during his performance.

"It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before," Usher said in a statement provided to CBS Sports. "Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I'll see you real soon."

Usher was selected by Jay-Z for the event, as Jay-Z's Roc Nation has been the producer of the show since the agency partnered with the NFL in 2019.

"Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he's been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul," Jay-Z said in a statement. "His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can't wait to see the magic."

When did Usher last release music?

Usher has not publicly released music since he released the album Hard II Love in 2016.

It was a hit as it peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Usher partnered with Zaytoven as well for an eight-track project, A, in 2018.

But he's far from done yet.

Amid the Super Bowl halftime news being announced, it was also announced that his ninth studio album, Coming Home, would be released on Feb. 11, the same date as the show.

It will feature his previous 2023 release of "Good Good," which also includes 21 Savage and Summer Walker.

Usher has expressed a lot of excitement surrounding the new album.

“I’m coming home, I’m back with my team,” Usher told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, noting that he’s working with Antonio “L.A.” Reid. “Even when you see the artwork, you will understand it. When you see the peach. You get it. You understand where I’m from and what we’re doing.”
