It's no secret Bills star Stefon Diggs has had an up and down season.

In week 15 against the Cowboys, he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the fourth consecutive year. Still, he's had only five games with over 100 yards, and that number has gone down over the past few weeks. He's recorded only one game with over 50 yards since Nov. 13.

And against the Chargers, a game that could make or break the Bills' playoff hopes, Diggs has been silenced. He didn't record a single yard until the third quarter and was targeted sparingly in the first half in an unusual turn of events for the three-time Pro Bowler.

What's going on with Diggs? Here's what we know.

Is Stefon Diggs injured?

Diggs's presence, or lack thereof, hasn't gone unnoticed. It's not because he's injured, though.

Through nearly three quarters, Diggs had one reception for no yards, which came on the first play of the game. He was occasionally shown on the sidelines as the Bills trailed the Chargers, causing question and concern. The Bills have utilized their run game more often lately, though, putting less pressure on the receiver. In the win against Dallas, Josh Allen threw for 94 yards while James Cook ran for 179 yards.

Buffalo is taking advantage of its running game's late-season surge, resulting in less action for Diggs and other receivers.

The Bills have since erased an early deficit, though, scoring a go-ahead touchdown with just seconds until halftime. They took an eight-point lead in the third quarter with Allen's third touchdown, the only one Diggs helped with. He recorded two more receptions during that drive, good for four and six yards each.

Buffalo recorded only 186 receiving yards through three quarters. Diggs has the second-most targets, including a target on a ball that was intercepted by the Chargers, but his production fell far short of Gabe Davis despite his status as one of the NFL's top receivers.
