Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was dealing with a hamstring injury all week in practice, and the issue popped up early on Sunday. Smith-Schuster left the game against the 49ers after appearing to aggravate the troublesome ailment.

Smith-Schuster returned to Kansas City after New England released him before the season began. So far this year, he has nine catches for 147 yards and a touchdown in five games.

JuJu Smith-Schuster injury update

Smith-Schuster was limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday, and he was listed as "questionable" entering Sunday's matchup with San Francisco. The veteran was active for the game, but in the first quarter, he seemed to aggravate that hamstring injury. After Smith-Schuster initially left the game, Kansas City announced he is "questionable" to return.

Since the re-aggravating the hamstring injury, Smith-Schuster has not returned to the game.
