It's deja vu all over again.

The Jets set are set to introduce their new quarterback on Wednesday. He's a former Green Bay Packer, a Super Bowl winner and a multiple-time league MVP. Does that sound familiar at all?

Brett Favre once famously made his way from Green Bay to Green and White, and Aaron Rodgers is following in his footsteps.

Favre is aware of Rodgers' move, and weighed in on the trade, offering his support of the quarterback in his future endeavors with the Jets.

"Aaron will do great!!!!" Favre said in a text message to ESPN. "He will handle the transition as well as anyone. [He's a] very smart and instinctive person, on and off the field. In other words, you're not going to catch him by surprise very often.

"And I think [he's] the best at making everyone around him better. I would rather not bet at all than bet against him."

The two famously had a little bit of an icy relationship when Rodgers first entered the league, but the two have remained amicable in recent years, to the point that they talk frequently.

The Jets are scheduled to introduce Rodgers on Wednesday afternoon, and reports indicate that he will sign a reworked contract that may alleviate some cap space for the Jets in the process.

Favre tried to stave off Rodgers when the latter was drafted by the Packers in 2005, though Rodgers ultimately took the job from Favre in the years that followed. Favre then made his way to the Jets in 2008, and the team showed playoff promise until it lost four of its last five games and fell out of the playoff race.

Jets fans should hope the story ends a bit differently this time.
