A new Summer League champion was crowned Monday as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets battled it out for the title at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The Cavaliers and Rockets finished their qualifying games with perfect 5-0 records, but it was the Cavs who left Las Vegas unbeaten, winning the championship game 99-78.

The first Las Vegas Summer League was played in 2004, featuring six teams. In 2004, the Celtics, Cavaliers, Nuggets, Magic, Suns and Wizards played a 13-game schedule, but no champion was crowned.
In each year since, the event has grown and since 2018, all 30 teams have participated, with the Warriors winning the first Summer League championship in 2013.
