The biggest weekend in racing commences with the Indianapolis 500, as the race will take on the next chapter in its storied history for the 108th time.

With the Monaco Grand Prix and Coca-Cola 600 also in the spotlight Sunday, the Indy 500 promises to provide excitement on a busy Memorial Day weekend in the country and in the sporting world.

This year, there's a certain storyline that could make for must-watch TV even for the casual racing fan. Kyle Larson, who leads the NASCAR Cup Series standings, will attempt to race in both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, weather permitting.

What time does the Indy 500 start today?

With the Indy 500 being the biggest event in IndyCar, there will be plenty of activity all day long. For the fans in attendance, gates will open at 6 a.m. ET, giving them plenty of time to find their seats before the green flag waves at 12:45 p.m. ET.

Traditions such as the singing of "Back Home Again in Indiana" and driver introductions can be seen on NBC.

Coverage from Indianapolis Motor Speedway will begin bright and early with the pre-race show starting at 11 a.m. ET on NBC. Race coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. ET.

The pre-race show and 108th running of the Indy 500 will also be live-streamed on Peacock and Fubo, the latter of which offers a free trial, so you can try before you buy.

Mike Tirico will host the Indy 500 for NBC with studio analyst Danica Patrick for the sixth consecutive year. Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and former Indy 500 competitor Jimmie Johnson will join pre-race coverage alongside Tirico and Patrick before flying to the Charlotte to participate in the Coca-Cola 600. Leigh Diffey will call the race with analysts Townsend Bell and James Hinchcliffe.
