Nick Kyrgios has had little time on the tennis court in the past few years amid a torrid run with injuries.

The Australian notably reached the Wimbledon final in 2022 but has missed multiple grand slam tournaments since.

However, he has now returned to the pro circuit and is gearing up for his home major.

When is Nick Kyrgios playing next?

Kyrgios returned to the ATP circuit at the Brisbane International in late December, where he lost to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in his opening singles match.

The 29-year-old also played two doubles matches alongside Novak Djokovic at the tournament.

Kyrgios' next match will be a first-round clash at the Australian Open, where he will face Great Britain's Jacob Fearnley.

He will take on the 23-year-old on Monday, January 13 at approximately 7:00 pm AEDT on John Cain Arena.

The Aussie is entering the tournament under an injury cloud after struggling with wrist and abdomen issues.

"I was really excited for the Aus Open and after today … the reality set in to be fair," Kyrgios said after his loss in Brisbane.

"I almost need a miracle and the stars to align for my wrist to hold up in a grand slam for sure. But I'm so happy to be part of the Australian summer again."

Kyrgios' last grand slam tournament match was a quarter-final loss to Karen Khachanov at the US Open in 2022.

Nick Kyrgios ranking

Kyrgios is currently without an ATP singles ranking after several months of inactivity.

However, he holds a protected ranking of 21 because of his injury problems.

Protected rankings are granted by the ATP when a player misses more than six months of tennis because of injury.

He will still be able to use a protected ranking to gain access to most tournaments, although he will be unseeded.

Nick Kyrgios prize money won

Having been a tennis pro for over a decade now, Kyrgios has accumulated a tidy sum of prize money.

According to the official ATP website, the Australian has taken home US$12,494,766 in tournament winnings to date.

That sum includes prize money from both singles and doubles events.
