NRL injury list 2024: Your club’s medical news, casualty ward, player return dates

The 2024 NRL season is rolling along at a rapid pace, and a host of injuries to key players are rocking the competition. 

Nathan Cleary and Tom Trbojevic have suffered hamstring injuries which have caused havoc for their sides and their state, while AJ Brimson is also facing a lengthy spell out.  

The Broncos are having to do without their playmaker Adam Reynolds, while the Raiders and Eels are having to deal without their halfbacks too.

Clint Gutherson, Ryan Papenhuyzen and Cameron Murray have been sidelined for extended periods, while Cameron Munster has joined them in the casualty ward after limping off in Magic Round.

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Tom Gilbert have been ruled out for the season with ACL injuries, while Kalyn Ponga is due back later in the year after suffering a foot injury.

Broncos injury news:

Payne Haas was carried off with a foot injury last week but surprisingly returned later in the match. He will be assessed during the week ahead of Round 12. 

Reece Walsh missed his side's clash at Magic Round after being cut from the side due to knee soreness. He is set to return this week. 

Billy Walters suffered a wrist injury early on during his side's win over Parramatta and is set to return in Round 12. 

Kotoni Staggs has been ruled out this week after fracturing a rib in Magic Round. The centre is scheduled to return after the club's bye in Round 13. 

Tristan Sailor will be sidelined for around a month with an ankle issue he suffered in reserve grade.

Jesse Arthars exited his team's Round 9 match early with a broken jaw. He is expected to return in Round 16. 

Adam Reynolds suffered a ruptured biceps against the Roosters in Round 9 and despite fears his season may be over, the halfback is set to return a few weeks before finals. 

Ben Te Kura's season could be over after suffering a Lisfranc injury. He has been ruled out indefinitely.

Raiders injury news: 

Josh Papalii has been hit with a one-match ban for a dangerous contact charge. 

Jamal Fogarty had surgery after rupturing his biceps against the Broncos in Round 7. He will be out for between 12-14 weeks. 

Zac Hosking has been sidelined with a dislocated shoulder since Round 6. He could spend up to three months out. 

Corey Horsburgh suffered a groin injury in Round 5 and remains sidelined. 

Pasami Saulo was ruled out in Round 9 due to a lower back injury with the forward out indefinitely. 

Corey Harawira-Naera's future remains clouded. Ricky Stuart claimed the forward was facing early retirement after suffering a seizure last season.

Bulldogs injury news:   

Jaeman Salmon missed Magic Round due to illness but is set to return to the fold this week. 

Ryan Sutton had surgery on his knee in the off-season with the England international scheduled to return this week.   

Chris Patolo limped from the field in the opening minute of his side's Round 7 clash against the Knights with an MCL injury. He is expected to return in Round 14. 

Karl Oloapu will miss the entire season with a serious neck injury.

Sharks injury news:  

Braden Hamlin-Uele missed Magic Round with a knee injury and remains sidelined this week. 

Toby Rudolf is expected to miss around a month after picking up a knee injury in Round 9. 

Jesse Colquhoun suffered a foot injury in Cronulla's final trial and is out indefinitely. 

Dale Finucane suffered a fractured eye socket in Round 3 in what proved to be his final game in the NRL, as he announced his retirement ahead of Round 8.

Dolphins injury news:  

Max Plath missed Magic Round after copping a head knock although he has been named to return this week. 

Tesi Niu limped from the field with an ankle issue during his side's win over the Cowboys in Round 9. He is now scheduled to return. 

Tom Flegler could miss the remainder of the season after continuing to struggle with a shoulder issue. 

Tom Gilbert suffered a devastating blow in the final trial of the pre-season when he went down with an ACL injury.

Titans injury news: 

Kieran Foran has been listed in the reserves this week after suffering a hamstring issue in Round 10.

Jayden Campbell suffered a knee injury against the Raiders in Round 6 but is scheduled to return in the coming weeks. 

Phillip Sami will miss around a month of action after suffering a hamstring injury in Round 10. 

Tanah Boyd suffered a wrist injury in the opening minutes of his side's loss to the Storm in Round 9. He is expected to be out for up to two months.  

Harley Smith-Shields will miss around six weeks after suffering a pec injury in Round 10. 

AJ Brimson is facing up to two months on the sidelines in a major blow to the Titans after he sustained a groin injury in Round 10. 

Jaimin Jolliffe suffered a pec injury in the opening minutes of his side's loss to the Knights at Magic Round and will miss around four months. 

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui suffered a ruptured ACL in Round 3 and will miss the remainder of the campaign.

Sea Eagles injury news: 

Tolu Koula will miss Indigenous Round after suffering a shoulder injury last week. 

Nathan Brown is set to return in Round 12 after missing the past few weeks due to injury.  

Jason Saab is set to return ahead of schedule after being named on the wing this week. He suffered an A/C injury in Round 10 that was expected to keep him out for a month. 

Tom Trbojevic limped from the field in Round 10 with a hamstring injury and will miss roughly seven weeks in a massive blow to the Sea Eagles and the Blues. 

Matthew Lodge suffered a biceps injury during his side's loss to the Broncos in Round 10 and is facing another extended period of time on the sidelines. 

Lachlan Croker suffered a neck injury in Round 9 and remains sidelined indefinitely.

Storm injury news: 

Jahrome Hughes has missed three weeks after suffering a calf injury in Round 9. He has been named to return this week. 

Ryan Papenhuyzen limped from the field in Round 9 with what was later confirmed to be a small fracture to the fibula, in the same ankle he injured during last year's finals series. He will miss at least one month.

Cameron Munster reeled out of a tackle after aggravating a groin injury during his side's win over Parramatta at Magic Round. Scans have since confirmed he suffered a tear in the adductor tendon. He will miss 8-10 weeks. 

Jonah Pezet suffered an ACL injury while playing in reserve grade and has been ruled out for the remainder of the year.

Knights injury news: 

Daniel Saifiti has served his suspension after being cited for a high shot. He will return after the club's bye. 

Bradman Best suffered a hamstring injury in Magic Round and is looking at up to a month on the sidelines which will rule him out of the Origin opener. 

Kalyn Ponga suffered a Lisfranc injury in Round 7 with the star facing up to three months on the sidelines in a major blow for the Knights and Maroons.

Warriors injury news:

Wayde Egan was ruled out with a category one concussion during his side's clash against the Panthers in Magic Round and will miss at least one week. 

Tohu Harris dropped out of his side's Magic Round fixture due to a hand injury with no timeline provided for his return yet. 

Freddy Lussick suffered a head knock in Round 10 but has been named to return this week. 

Marata Niukore has returned a few weeks ahead of schedule after suffering with a foot issue for the past two months. 

Rocco Berry is set to return ahead of schedule after suffering a hand injury in Round 10, which was initially expected to rule him out for a month. 

Chanel Harris-Tavita was a late withdrawal in Round 7 due to a calf injury but is in contention to play this week. 

Shaun Johnson failed to finish the game in Round 10 after injuring his pec. The halfback is expected to return in Round 14. 

Demitric Sifakula suffered an ACL injury last year although he is expected to return this month. 

Kurt Capewell suffered a calf injury in Round 9 and will miss around a month of action. 

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was sidelined with a hamstring injury ahead of Round 10. He is expected to miss up to two months in a major blow for the Warriors. 

Ali Leiataua will be sidelined for around six weeks after suffering an ankle injury at Magic Round. 

Luke Metcalf left the field in Round 4 after suffering a fracture leg and is out indefinitely.

Cowboys injury news: 

Kyle Feldt suffered an ankle issue which saw him ruled out of Magic Round. He has been included in the extended squad this week. 

Tom Chester suffered a hamstring injury during his side's clash with the Panthers in Round 8 and is expected to miss a month. 

Semi Valemei has undergone surgery after suffering an ankle injury during his side's loss to the Titans in Round 10.  

Jamayne Taunoa-Brown suffered an Achilles injury last year and will be sidelined until later in the season. 

Zac Laybutt suffered an ACL tear against the Titans in Round 5, which will see him miss the remainder of the season.  

Coen Hess suffered an ACL injury in his side's final trial match against Canberra. He will be sidelined for the season.

Eels injury news: 

Ryan Matterson was ruled out of Magic Round due to illness but has been named to start this week. 

Mitchell Moses was initially expected to return at Magic Round after undergoing surgery on a broken foot, although those plans were put on ice. He suffered the injury late in his side's Round 3 match against the Sea Eagles.

Clint Gutherson had a minor operation on his knee while the Eels were in their bye round, with the captain expected to be sidelined until Round 14. 

Ofahiki Ogden suffered a pec tear while appearing in the NSW Cup. He will miss up to three months. 

Richard Penisini will miss the entirety of the campaign after suffering an ACL injury in pre-season training, while Arthur Miller-Stephen's has also been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.

Luke Garner has dropped out of the side this week for an undisclosed reason. 

Brad Schneider remains sidelined after he picked up a knee injury in his side's NSW Cup game two weeks ago. 

Liam Henry missed Magic Round after copping a head knock in Round 10 but has been included on the bench this week. 

Nathan Cleary re-aggravated his hamstring injury against the Bulldogs in Round 10. In a massive blow to his club and state, he will be sidelined for up to two months. 

Taylan May is facing alleged domestic violence offences and is out indefinitely.

Bunnies injury news:

Cody Walker has been ruled out of Indigenous Round after picking up a low-grade calf strain. 

Jacob Host has served a two-game ban for dangerous contact on a kicker and has been named to start this week. 

Cameron Murray is set to be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks, after sustaining a hip-flexor injury in the Rabbitohs' Round 9 loss against Penrith. 

Jye Gray did not play the second half against the Panthers in Round 9 after suffering a syndesmosis injury. He is expected to be out for 8-10 weeks. 

Campbell Graham is set to spend the first four months on the sidelines in a massive blow for the Bunnies after struggling with a sternum injury. 

Tevita Tatola could miss up to 12 weeks after undergoing surgery on a fractured foot.

Dean Hawkins suffered a quad injury during his side's Round 9 clash against the Panthers. He will be sidelined for three months. 

Isaiah Tass could reportedly be sidelined for up to three months after undergoing surgery on his ankle. 

Tyrone Munro is facing another extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a collarbone injury in Round 6. 

Lachlan Ilias suffered a fractured leg while playing in the NSW Cup. He will be sidelined indefinitely.

Luciano Leilua is set to return this week as he recovers from a calf issue. 

Corey Allan went down in training on the same day as Ronald Volkman's exit news came out with the former Queensland representative suffering an ACL injury which has ruled him out for the year. 

Cody Ramsey won't feature in 2024 as he continues to battle with illness.

Isaiah Papali'i has served a one-game ban after being charged for a trip in Round 10. 

Justin Olam and Brent Naden will return in Round 14 after being issued with one-match bans for dangerous contact charges in Magic Round. 

Aidan Sezer has been hit with a four-game ban for a hip drop tackle in Round 9. He will return in Round 15. 

Adam Doueihi continues to recover from the third ACL injury of his career with the playmaker aiming to return in the next two months. 

John Bateman suffered a pec injury during his side's match against the Knights in Round 10. He will be out for two months. 

Starford To'a lasted just 14 minutes upon his return from an ankle injury in Round 10 as he suffered a hamstring issue which has sidelined him indefinitely. 

Junior Tupou suffered a broken foot against the Panthers and is out indefinitely.
