Madison de Rozario entered the 2024 Paralympic Games as one of Australia's best and most recognisable athletes.

Her success and impact as a para-athlete saw her selected as her nation's opening ceremony flagbearer, alongside Brenden Hall.

The action is well underway in Paris, with the 30-year-old already adding to her impressive Paralympics medal tally.

Madison de Rozario Paralympic events: What will Australian star compete in at Paris 2024?

De Rozario is listed to compete in a trio of events at Paris 2024:

  • Women's 1500m - T54
  • Women's 5000m - T54
  • Women's Marathon - T54

She is racing under the T54 classification, which includes athletes with spinal cord injuries who compete in a wheelchair but have normal hand and arm function. Individuals in this classification also have normal or limited trunk function and no leg function.

De Rozario developed a neurological disease called transverse myelitis at a young age, which inflames her spinal cord and requires her to use a wheelchair.

Across her Paralympic career, she has won two gold medals, three silver medals and a bronze medal prior to Paris 2024.

What time does Madison de Rozario race at the Paralympics?

The 5000m was de Rozario's first event, and she added another medal to her collection, finishing in third. 

She then qualified for the 1500m final, where she came fifth after avoiding a mid-race crash.

The Aussie will conclude her campaign with the marathon on Sunday, September 8.
