Despite competing in the relatively niche sport of canoeing, she has become a very popular figure in her home country, securing a slew of medals along the way.

Has Jess Fox won an Olympic gold medal before?

Yes, Fox has won two Olympic gold medals.

She achieved the feat at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, taking out the women’s canoe slalom event and also the kayak single event at Paris 2024.

In total, Fox has picked up five Olympic medals across her career.

The other three came in the kayak singles slalom event, winning a silver medal on debut at London 2012, and securing bronze at Rio 2016 ,while she also collected bronze in he canoe slalom at Tokyo 2020.
