Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce changed the entertainment as we know it when the popstar went to the Chiefs-Bears game in September.

The tight end joked about her attending the game during an interview on "The Pat McAfee Show," telling Swift the ball was in her court after rumors emerged suggesting the two were together. Swift took Kelce up on the offer and went to watch him rock the stage at Arrowhead. He scored a touchdown in his girlfriend's NFL debut.

While it seems like the couple is posted all over social media every day, they've maintained a somewhat personal relationship together, sharing only select details with the public. Either way, it wasn't a surprise to Swifties – who know how private the singer keeps everything – when Kelce shared he knew Swift well before her first Chiefs game.

Kelce returned to "The Pat McAfee Show" on Jan. 31 to share more about his relationship and new level of fame. During the interview, he revealed he and Swift knew each other for about a month prior to the Bears game in September.

“It wasn’t just an out of the blue, ‘Hey, come to the game,'" he said.

Kelce added that his risen celebrity status came with less privacy, but he's enjoying the ride.

“It’s exciting for me, but it was all brand new, man. From having the paparazzi follow me every single day into work to everybody having my name on their talk show every single day," he said. "It’s been a crazy, crazy ride that I could have never anticipated. But I’m having fun with it. The majority of the world is having fun with it, outside all the cranky NFL fans that just don’t want to see the Chiefs win.”

Swift previously clarified in her TIME Person of the Year feature that she knew Kelce before going to his game, but the singer did not expand beyond that except they wouldn't be so crazy to meet for the first time at a highly publicized event.

"I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date," she said.
