Race number 14 of the 2024 Formula One season gets underway today, as the 20 drivers prepare to tackle one of the most iconic tracks on the calendar – Spa – at the 80th edition of the Belgian Grand Prix.

As the second half of the record-breaking 24-race 2024 season continues with the fifth race of seven in a row across Europe, the pressure is continuing to increase on the leading contenders following three back-to-back meetings which have heralded surprise winners.

None of those victors have been Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who is currently on his worst run of form for Red Bull in almost three years and has ended his last three races in fifth, second and fifth respectively.

Mercedes and McLaren have been the beneficiaries of the defending champion's slump, with George Russell, Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri taking the chequered flag in Austria, Great Britain and Hungary respectively. Piastri's win at the Hungaroring last weekend was the first of his career, and saw him pass McLaren teammate Lando Norris to claim top spot.

Norris, being a Belgian citizen, will certainly be hoping to go one better at his 'home' race, whilst a wounded Verstappen will also be dead-set on returning to the winners' circle as soon as possible. At Spa, anything is possible, setting the stage for a fantastic 14th race of the season.

For all the scheduling, TV and streaming details for the Belgian Grand Prix, The Sporting News has your go-to guide for today's race.
