Leicester City are momentarily out of the relegation zone on goal difference after a wild 2-2 draw against fellow strugglers Everton, who are still in the bottom three.
It was visiting Everton who started strong and took the lead, but Leicester responded with goals by defender Caglar Soyuncu and Jamie Vardy to take a 2-1 halftime lead.
The turning point in the match occurred just before the break. The Foxes had a chance to extend their lead to 3-1, but James Maddison struck a penalty kick right down the middle and it was stopped by Everton 'keeper Jordan Pickford.
It was Pickford's counterpart, Leicester netminder Daniel Iversen, who was the star of the match with big stops against Alex Iwobi, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (twice), and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Despite losing their captain Seamus Coleman to a horrific injury, Everton did not lose spirit and were arguably the better team in the second half, deservingly netting a 2-2 equaliser through Iwobi. The Toffees also nearly found the winner, but Iversen's diving stop thwarted Doucoure's curler.
Both teams are still in relegation danger. Everton are winless in seven (four draws), while Leicester have just one win in their last 12 league matches. There are only four games remaining, and the run-in for both teams will be challenging with each facing two opponents inside the top 10.
- Everton: Brighton (away), Man City (home), Wolves (away), Bournemouth (home)
- Leicester: Fulham (away), Liverpool (home), Newcastle (away), West Ham (home)
FiveThirtyEight projects Everton as one of the three clubs most likely to be relegated (63 percent chance), while Leicester are given a better shot at survival (30 percent chance of relegation).

Jordan Pickford's water bottle
If Everton survive in 2022/23, the Jordan Pickford penalty save will go down as one of the iconic moments of the season. It turns out Pickford had his notes on each Leicester penalty taker detailed on his water bottle, and he followed the homework he had on James Maddison: 60% down the middle.
Everton deserved more
Leicester had a 2-1 lead and could've made it 3-1 before halftime if not for James Maddison's decision to shoot his penalty down the middle, but it's Everton who will feel like they deserved all three points. The Toffees had 23 shots and easily created the best chances of the match. They imposed themselves on a Leicester team which didn't have much buildup, capitalising on a set-piece deflection in the box, and a midfield giveaway by Everton.
Seamus Coleman injury
The video of the 45th minute tackle that led to Coleman's injury is hard to watch and it didn't sound promising from Everton manager Sean Dyche postgame: "Really unfortunate. We're waiting on news. It looks like a knee injury. It could be serious. We don't know yet. I thought he was terrific, so it was a real loss for us. But I thought [Nathan] Patterson did well coming on. I thought Patterson was excellent."
Who is Daniel Iversen?
Leicester City's goalkeeper was the Man of the Match with six saves to allow his team to come away with a point. The 25-year-old Dane was only playing his eighth career Premier League match after spending recent seasons on loan with Oldham Athletic, Rotherham, Leuven (Belgium), and Preston North End.
He looked calm, and his interventions exuded confidence, rarely looking like he was scrambling. His point-blank stop against Calvert-Lewin in the first half and his diving save against Doucoure with three minutes remaining were the standout plays, earning him high praise from compatriot and former Leicester City goalkeeping standout Kasper Schmeichel.

10th min.: The opening 10 minutes go to Everton, as Alex Iwobi forces the first big save of the match out of Leicester goalkeeper Daniel Iversen. Then the Toffees caused Leicester problems on the ensuing corner kick. Everton mean business early.
1st min.: The high-stakes match has kicked off at the King Power.
40 mins from kickoff: All eyes on Everton centre-back Michael Keane and whether he can perform in a big spot. He hasn't done enough to make fans forget that Conor Coady has been left to ride the bench.
1 hour from kickoff: Lineups are in. Everton regular Amadou Onana is on the bench after a bout with illness, while Ben Godfrey has a groin injury. Mason Holgate is not in the Toffees squad.
For Leicester, Luke Thomas (left-back) and Wilfred Ndidi (midfield) are in, while Victor Kristiansen and Tete are on the bench. It's a more defensive look for the Foxes with Ndidi in place of Tete.
70 mins from kickoff: Everton legend Neville Southall joins the supporters venting on social media ahead of the Toffees' critical five-match run-in.
90 mins from kickoff: Everton have their work cut out for them to prove the naysayers wrong. Another one of those is pundit Ian Wright who says:
"The last few games Everton have are not good ... I think Leeds are in trouble and I think Everton are going down, too. I fancy Leicester to win tonight."
2 hrs from kickoff: Look away Everton fans. One of those stat nuggets that does not bode well.
