England became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals, winning two of their three matches in the Super 8s. England beat USA by 10 wickets, chasing the target in under 18.4 overs, to get the definite qualification on Net Run Rate (NRR).
South Africa became the second team to secure qualification for the semi-finals, after they won three out of three matches in the Super 8, beating England, USA and West Indies. They finished second in Group 2 with six points but behind England, due to lower NRR.
India booked their berth in the semi-final as Group 1 toppers after beating Australia by 24 runs. The final team to secure a spot in the semi-finals was Afghanistan, after they beat Bangladesh in a thriller at Kingstown, on Tuesday.
