England's ongoing tour of India has been one of the most-keenly followed cricketing events in the last few months. The visitors landed in India aiming to become the first team in nearly 12 years to defeat the Men in Blue in a Test series on home turf.

They won the first Test in Hyderabad but went on to lose the next three in a row in Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, and Ranchi. The final Test is set to begin in Dharamsala on March 7.

England's senior batters in the middle-order have struggled on this tour, with the likes of Joe Root Ben Stokes, and Jonny Bairstow all having sub-par outings. Root, however, returned to form with a century in the first innings in Ranchi.

In the third Test in Rajkot, England were at 224/2 in reply to India's 445 on day three. To make matters worse for the hosts, lead spinner R Ashwin had to leave the match that day to attend to a family emergency, meaning England had the chance to press home their advantage.
